Hello and welcome! I open my practice to you with affirmative care and unconditional positive regard. I will meet you where you are and accept all parts of you with open arms. In this space, the realities of identity and oppression are understood. Safety, respect and reverence for diversity in all forms is ensured. Equality is central to my practice as a relational, LGBTQIA-identified therapist. Using a strengths-based, humanistic approach, I work with adults from all walks of life to achieve balance and to help you achieve your goals. It is a privilege to be your partner on this journey.
With over a decade of experience in the field, I specialize in treating LGBTQIA and gender related issues, mood, anxiety, and trauma. We will explore the psychodynamic relationship between the past and present, as well as current thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I strongly believe in the healing power of healthy relationships.
I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step to healing, especially during times of great challenge. I am here to help guide and support you on this journey. I invite you to reach out no matter the circumstance, and we will work together to develop a plan that meets your needs. I look forward to building a relationship with you.
My background includes various positions at Vinfen and the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health—including providing individual and group therapy as well as serving as Director for a team of clinicians, psychiatrists and allied health professionals. I have also served as an outpatient clinician at South Shore Mental Health in Quincy, Massachusetts. This included developing the South Shore Safe Space, a group therapy setting for LGBTQIA-identified adults, as well as working as an emergency department clinician evaluating clients experiencing mental health crises and determining appropriate services/placement.
I have also been a survivor advocate for the Refuge House Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center in Tallahassee, Florida, providing crisis intervention to a highly diverse group of clientele, including survivors of domestic and sexual violence. I have worked with The Network/La Red, a survivor-led, social justice organization that works to end partner abuse in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, kink, polyamorous, and queer communities in the Boston area.
I have a master’s degree in social work from Boston College and bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Northeastern University and Florida State University.
