Kenneth

As a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) for nearly 15 years, I have helped resolve several core concerns for clients, including men’s issues, relationship dissatisfaction, career stress, anger and frustration, minor alcohol disturbances, and stress management. I believe emotional disturbance like anxiety, depression, confusion, mood, and stress manifests when we fail to live our lives confidently and honestly with meaningful purpose and positive action. Low esteem, lack of confidence, little motivation, and chronic worry all negatively impact our relationship to self and others creating symptoms that can send you and your life into a downward spiral. You do not have to feel stuck, helpless, or lost. Help is available.

I love working with people with all types of experiences and backgrounds. I have a particular passion for helping and supporting first responders. In fact, I founded The Psyched Group in 2014 to support other therapists. As Chief Wellness Officer, I oversee business operations while selectively meeting with clients to stay attuned to their needs and those of therapists.

With a 20-year career deeply rooted in health care, I began in the corporate sector, selling pharmaceuticals and medical devices. I have a master's degree in holistic counseling from Salve Regina University with thesis work in expressive art therapies, narrative therapy, and somatic psychodrama. I designed and delivered workshops in collaboration with Hospice of Dayton to help health care workers mitigate burnout and compassion fatigue.

I have a creative side and wrote and performed my solo-play, "Pieces of War," capturing the narratives of three generations of warfighters and gracing 500+ stages nationwide to promote dialogue, uniting and inspiring audiences to seek resolution through conflict.

In 1992, I earned a bachelor's degree from Providence College and served as a combat-trained helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), demanding the best from the aviators I proudly led. I later worked with Volunteers of America, providing support to psychologically wounded Iraqi and Afghanistan war veterans during their post-war reintegration.

An avid hiker, meditator, and certified yoga instructor, I model living a whole life well to optimize myself and those I serve. My own journey through post-traumatic growth led me to a fulfilling and "psyched" life with a deep desire to help others.
